Vanessa comes to the Network with an extensive background in environmental education, student/team development, project management and program evaluation. She spent 11 years with Oregon Health & Science University as Director of Student Development and Diversity for the Institute of Environmental Health, where she developed and led a range of collaborative education initiatives across the “K-Grey” spectrum, focused on the river-to-ocean ecosystem of the Columbia River. She has a particular interest and background in developing collaborative partnerships with PNW tribal organizations. She holds a MS degree in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University.
The Network’s Mission is to support the work of Oregon watershed councils in their efforts to enhance watershed health and benefit their local communities. We envision effective, resilient and inclusive watershed councils that produce triple bottom line outcomes: environmental, economic and social.
The Network also serves as the fiscal sponsor for an Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board grant in partnership with the Oregon Association of Conservation Districts, Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts, and the Oregon Conservation Education and Assistance Network. Collectively, we are the Oregon Conservation Partnership. These collective groups share a common commitment to protect and enhance Oregon’s natural beauty and conservation values by promoting, supporting, and advocating for voluntary conservation throughout the state.
Vanessa Green will officially be on with us starting November 4th, but she has already started to sink her teeth in a little along the way. She can be reached at ed@oregonwatersheds.org or on her cell at 971-285-1727.
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Vanessa as she joins a “Network” of amazing people in the Oregon watershed!
